Why do I need a Celebrant to get married?

Great question!

Authorised marriage celebrants are the only people that can perform a legal marriage between two people in civil ceremony in Australia. If you have your friend perform a ceremony in your back yard one lovely Sunday arvo it might be awesome but it isn’t a legal wedding.

Sorry Sharron, I’m sure will do a great job but it’s not a legally recognised ceremony.

Will my wedding be different from everyone elses?

YEP!

No two couples are the same which means no two weddings should be either. I take the time to get to know you both so your story comes through, giving you a unique ceremony tailored specifically to you. I don’t recycle a wedding from last weekend, every ceremony is different.

It is your story, I’m just the one telling it.

How far ahead should I book my ceremony?

In Australia the fastest you can get married is one month and if I am available I can help make that happen.

Most weddings are usually booked between 6 - 12 months in advance.
This gives you enough time to get all of your different services booked, invite your guests and to get everyone and everything in place before your big day.

I have no idea how to do all the legal stuff, do you?

Sure do, that’s why I’m here.

Alongside all the vows and storytelling I am here to make sure all the legalities are taken care of for you. There are some forms we need to fill out and some legal stuff we need to take care of but I am here to make sure they all get done quickly and easily. It is all part of the service that I provide to make your wedding as hassle free as possible.

THANKS! Once you choose me as your Celebrant that is when we take care of all your legal stuff and start planning your ceremony.

Depending on the type of ceremony you choose we will start setting up our meeting and I’ll start working with you to plan your ceremony. You can email or text me at anytime if you have any questions, I’ll either text back or give you a call as soon as I am available. I will remind you when it is time to do things and keep you updated on my end.
